COH 2026 Article 2- Spoilers For Con Of Heroes

Hey folks! Back for another exciting Con of Heroes spoiler session. In today’s article, we’ll be talking about two topics. 1) This year’s Con of Heroes campaign. 2) A new variant on Civil War PVP mode that just might make the game cooperative yet…

A Campaign Through Time

It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 amazing years at Con of Heroes. Over the years, we’ve made friends (the community), enemies (the Venom-Goblin scenario), and everything in between.

New conventions have popped up around the world as this community continues to grow and thrive into the prime of Marvel Champions content created by our favorite game designers! We wanted to do something special for the fifth year, so this year’s campaign encourages you to revisit themes from past Con of Heroes events.

You’ll begin this year’s time-hopping event with a plea for help from Nick Fury. Someone has been messing with Con’s of the past and twisting their themes (and even art?!@!). Assemble a team and travel to cons of the past to set things right!

Your team can play in 1-4 missions, and maybe more in future years as we continue to grow as a community. Each mission has a flavor text side and a setup side. You’ll grab a random mission, read the flavor text, and then begin setting up your scenario.

The sample mission shown here revisits the Ally Hate and Skrull theme from the first Con of Heroes in 2022. Each mission will have set-up rule and a challenge setup for an additional optional obstacle to overcome. Each mission also requires a new “Retcon” modular set.

It’s a set that revisits an old Con of Heroes theme, even using some of our classic art with new (or renewed) card effects. The last few art pieces are pending (they arrive in just a few days!), but I wanted to give you a good sense of what to expect. In future Cons, we can release new missions to shuffle into this deck to give additional length or variety to your campaigns.

Asgard Weeps

And now for something different… I love playing the Civil War expansion, but sometimes PVP games need a bit of a twist. In the Civil War storyline, Thor was mostly absent. Instead, he was replaced by a villainous robot created by Iron Man to make it appear as if Thor had taken a side. In the Champions universe, Thor has the potential to return mid-PVP battle and voice his disappointment with the warring heroes.

When you set up this modular encounter in a PVP game, each time an enemy leader is defeated, there is a chance that Thor will enter the battlefield. When he does, he does so with a fiery might!

Thor will now enter as a new leader and attack both players’ fields. Teams will not be able to damage Thor until their enemy leader is defeated, and Thor will act as the enemy leader for both teams once they complete their current standard PVP match-up.

All players win the game if Thor is defeated; otherwise, they lose. Can the enemy teams put differences aside to quell this Asgardian’s rage? The game continues to play normally, and teams can work cooperatively to defeat Thor, with the team that deals the most damage as the game’s MVPs.

Thor has a few other tricks up his sleeve, but operates as normal with the encounter deck and attachments set up from your rival team. Note, Thor assumes the mantle of any fallen enemy leaders. He can even use Clint’s Bow and Quiver, or Captain America’s Shield (or so intended).

This year’s COH has something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a new spin on the latest Marvel Champions box set – or want to revisit times of the past, we have it all at the con this year. Can’t wait to see you all there!
